PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

James Hinkle is the Managing Member and Chief Executive Officer of As-1 International, LLC., producing and implementing innovative business concepts to address under-served niche markets focusing on food, water, medicine, housing and alternative/renewable energy. In his role with As-1, he manages all aspects of international marketing & development programs. James’ primary activities consist of consulting services on a business-to-business and business-to-government level, and creative financing for project development involving international bank relationships. During his highly successful career he has developed core competencies in business development with extensive sales skills and marketing leadership abilities, strong communications and networking skills, creative and management of national sales programs, cultivating and maintaining loyal and productive client relationships, along with strategic long-range planning.

For the past 22 years, James has been a project developer, investor and creative marketer of revolutionary technologies in the Waste to Energy field. Working with multiple concerns who can and have addressed diverse ways and means of converting various trash issues, James has identified a number of application opportunities while traveling to and through over two dozen foreign countries. In fact, from Letters of Interest or Intent, to Memorandums of Understanding, to full fledge contracts, James has amassed over $200 Billion Dollars worth of projects to develop in cities and countries globally. The success of these ventures rides solely on the ability to obtain working capital; something a mere matter of time will overcome.

It was these skills and leadership abilities that in 2012 made him the top choice for double duty in the position of investor and CEO of a young upstart company on a research mission with the City of Los Angeles’ Department of Water & Power. This group of highly talented and creative engineers had developed an active diagnostic and communication device that hit the market in the fall of 2016. This device is capable of revolutionizing electric power grid distribution equipment intelligence. With Mr. Hinkle at its helm, this company and technology is capable of meeting the expectations of the experts in potentially becoming a billion-dollar company virtually overnight.

James has amassed over 30 years of experience in business development, sales, marketing, operations management, contracting, and has a successful history as an entrepreneur with ventures in many market segments. One notable accomplishment was with Diaper Express, Inc. James took a novel idea and created America’s first ever, home delivery service for disposable diapers. In the first 2 years he developed a national network of independent distributors and dealers (67 in all) and taught them to build a serviceable territory and a small yet successful home-based business. Market penetration generated between 13 and 15 semi trailers full of cased product monthly producing in excess of $2.2 Million annually. James managed inventories and distribution, packaging and all marketing activities.

In the years prior to As-1, James served as Vice President of Research & Development and later promoted to President of America’s first African American owned Oil Company based in Colorado. In addition, he served as VP of Marketing for a Fire-Retardant chemical manufacturer in So. California. In these roles, he learned international trade negotiations for product buying and selling. With Groco Petroleum he helped develop crude oil products via the successful sale of a 10-year contract with the Royal Family of Kuwait. With JPH International, he was involved with the development of the market presence of the Home Depot coatings brand Behr to contain fire resistant properties. James also directed and trained independent sales brokers and successfully managed and participated in all phases of the product sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation to negotiations and closings.

Another of James’s accomplishments is on the proverbial gridiron. A graduate of the class of 1975 with his high school football team becoming #1 in the state of Michigan, James graduated #7 in his class. Between academics and football, he had amassed over 200 letters to attend college schools all over the country. At 6’3’’ and 235 lbs, he was the smallest player on the offensive line of the smallest team in his college’s conference. It was not outstanding play and national recognition that earned him a chance at the pros. It was a right place, right time opportunity; the niece of a scout from the Cleveland Browns who sparked his fancy and her uncle invited him to try out for the team. As luck would have it, All-Pro Ozzie Newsome required a few weeks injury rest that opened the door for an opportunistic contract at tight end in the late 1970s. Made the knock-knock squad as a walk on and earned a spot on the roster as a back-up tight end during part of the 1978 season under Coach Sam Rutigliano. As a professional football player, James learned the mental and physical iron-will that has prevailed in his successful business career following this great life experience.

SELECTED NOTEWORTHY ACCOMPLISHMENTS

It was after 5 years of service in the employ of IBM in the early 1980s that James got started in what amounts to now over 30 years as an independent business owner and entrepreneur.

The list of accomplishments is numerous, some of which are extolled as follows:

  • Developed and implemented business plans, performed extensive market research, created business development strategies, contract negotiations and conducted hundreds of sales training presentations.
  • Assisted in securing in excess of $50M in equity funding from investors for cutting-edge technology and development companies.
  • Spearheaded Mergers & Acquisitions, Joint Ventures and created Strategic International Relationships.
  • Conducted motivational seminars to large groups.
  • Co-created marketing plans which served as the foundation for the creation of multiple successful business ventures to include developing new and innovative distribution channels.
  • Implemented state of the art technologies to introduce and disseminate everything from information to time tested economic, ecological and environmental impacting protocols and systems.
  • Directed series of national, regional, and local market sales seminars focused on closing sales, thereby resulting in improved team performance and increased sales.
  • Readied a national sales team with projected sales that was to exceed $425M annually.
